Building The Interactive Future God's Way

The late great Maya Angelou once sang, “wouldn’t take nothing for my journey now.”
It was around 2014/2015 that The Lord began to download HIS vision for "The New Christian Experience" to our family through a series of prophetic visions and dreams. It started with me hearing the term itself echoing in the spirit. There were no details to describe it beyond the charge that I was being commissioned by Heaven through divine instruction to build it.
Today, we know this to be the interactive future of the church focused on intercessory prayer, discipleship training experiences, and interactive media tools empowering believers to commune with God daily.
The Truth Of The Matter
Among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. But no longer! Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So don’t be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the Temple!
For this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: I was determined to punish you when your ancestors angered me, and I did not change my mind, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. But now I am determined to bless Jerusalem and the people of Judah. So don’t be afraid. But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace.

In the beginning, our ministry call was a tall order I felt unequipped to step into, but as a no limit soldier I cried myself relentlessly into a posture of obedience one-step at a time. I have never felt worthy of the call to lead people into the presence of God, but I have always been grateful for the anointing to do so. I'll never shy away from being blessed to be a blessing as an intercessor/worshipper for the good of my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I can confidently speak for my husband and myself when I say this; By faith and fear, we have journeyed forward these last 11 years building The Being Academy.
We’ve moved with great trepidation to obey God’s command to the best of our ability. We've taken many risks to stay committed personally and professionally. In some areas, we’ve soared like family discipleship, prayer, product development, market innovation, and research. Then, there are the areas that have quite frankly paralyzed us with unfortunately too much fear to touch firmly: marketing, sales, and capital funding.
The irony in all of this is that we both have impeccable resumés in business coupled with stellar undergraduate business degrees from the outstanding world class educational institution that is St. John’s University's Tobin College of Business.
So what has been the issue?
Fear of man vs. Fear of God in business! What a confession! 
Pioneering the world of technology with an intention to do business in the faith-based marketplace arena has been quite a mental quagmire.
You see, fear can be a great survival motivator, but it is not a long-term stabilizer of success. I personally had to admit to myself and now you all, that fear to raise the money necessary to properly structure our success has been a nasty stronghold. This is not to mention wrestling with the influence of religious spirits and the old guard in tech/vc funding. We are not excused, rather honest through confession about our giants.
Imagine being afraid and ashamed that you do not personally have a million dollars to fund God’s vision. The truth of the matter is that even if we did have it... personally front-loading such a venture without risk management through capital funding is absolutely insane.
To be honest, some of this, maybe all of it, is cultural. It may be taboo to speak on, but needing to ask for money in the African American community no matter the cause is a sentence for condemnation and a big no no.
Black children are not allowed to need money. OUCH!
It hurts to even type at this level of vulnerability, but we must be honest as a community about what mindsets hold us back from communal economic success. The truth sets us free!
The other irony of all of this is that our family: our parents, our grandparents, extended family members, and friends, have been the largest investors in our company.
Over the last five years, we’ve raised $158,000 in capital. $105,000 of this is equity funding built on your trust and faith in us beyond your capacity to fully understand what we are doing. That is LOVE!
We take great joy in all of this! Though operating on an annual budget of $30,000 (based on our capital raise thus far) has not been the best financial equation. This is especially true regarding our personal finances as a single income homeschooling family of 5. We are grateful to say our love village of friends and family believe in us!
The Goodness Report
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

For this cause, we must build what God has called us to build until it is finished!
Instead of being afraid and ashamed to acknowledge what God's mission for our life and kingdom business really requires, we will now operate in holy awe and wonder. We will fear God only and ask for what we need by faith! It is time to lay aside all weights holding us back from soaring like those 11 – 2 Philadelphia EAGLES. #Birdgang
Moving forward differently, we will run the race that God has set before us!
2025 will look very different at The Being Academy.
Over the last two years, Teddy and I have met with many local families here in Southern California via prayer experiences, small groups, and group counseling sessions.
We’ve had the honor and privilege of leading some of those experiences also.
What we have found to be true is exactly what Jesus’ taught (Matthew 7:24 - 28).
Husbands and Wives who do not know The Word of The Lord for their family and lack a God ordained vision to believe in struggle to withstand the wiles of the devil raging up against marriages and families on a daily basis.
Our marriage and our ministry is not perfect, but we have always had a Word from the Lord sustaining us with a present hope to have faith for an eternal glorious end.
This way of being which we call The New Christian Experience has helped us not only survive but thrive in many storms that have risen up against our wellbeing.
Now, through in-person discipleship training experiences as well as digital/immersive media, we will empower other families to build their lives on The Word of God.
As a social enterprise, our impact mission is the revitalization of the mantle of family as humanity's primary institution for human flourishing.
We envision a future where church is an identity marker not just a building.
We believe in God's vision of The Body of Christ as submitted kingdom families anchored in The Word of God for the purpose of manifesting his glory and goodness on Earth daily.
We equip kingdom men, kingdom women, and kingdom families with the knowledge, tools, and the sacred space necessary to build kingdom lives on the firm foundation of The Word of God.
This December 31, 2024, we are seeking $45,000 to close our friends and family fund at $150,000 total funds raised for 2.5% Founding Stakeholder's Equity. This will support our CAC, Customer Acquisition Cost, and operating budget for the next 2-months while we resume conversations with all HOT institutional partner leads to raise an operations budget of $150,000K for Q1 and $600,000K for Q2, Q3, Q4 bringing our total capital raise for 2025 to $800,000.

Immediately following the close of our Friends and Family Fundraising campaign “It Takes A Village” launched in Aug. 2023, we will begin our efforts to raise $800,000 in grant and seed funding to support our 2025 12-month run-rate and SGA of our executive team.
We will focus the next 6-months on a strong 300 members to refine our experience before v. 2.0 releases in Q3 2025 to serve the 3000 and counting seeking to see, be, and experience life made in God's image.
All of these efforts will require radical focus, a spirit of excellence, and new levels of consistency.
